Chester County Sheriff Alex Underwood announced that the Chester County Sheriff’s Office has implemented the 2013 Fan Drive. Beginning July 8th, 2013, the Sheriff’s Office will be delivering fans to assist low income citizens in the community that are in need of them for the summer. The fans are free of charge to those that qualify. Deputies will conduct a home visit prior to placing a fan in a home.
With the current economic crisis, the demand for these types of services is extremely high. Sheriff Underwood is committed to the oath of “to serve and protect” all the citizens of Chester County, regardless of their economic status. Additionally, this is another way of staying in touch with some of our underserved citizens and to find out if there is anything else we can do for them.
The Chester County Sheriff’s Office is accepting monetary donations for the fan drive. A $20 donation will buy a fan. Donations are being collected at the Sheriff’s Office by Amy Bair or Hope Bradley. The key to the program’s success lies with the enthusiasm and commitment of the community and its volunteers.
If you or someone you know are in need of a fan, call Deputy Kito Crank at 803-209-1836 or Deputy Trey Hunter at (803) 209-5972. Fans will be delivered to your home by a Chester County Deputy Sheriff. The program will run through September 31, 2013. We invite you to attend a press conference with the Sheriff’s Department, along with local business contributors on (Place and Time to be determined).
