AME, Inc is pleased to announce the relocation of their existing Fabrication Division from Rock Hill, SC to Chester, SC.

AME, Inc a Fort Mill, SC based Industrial Contractor is pleased to announce the relocation of their existing Fabrication Division from Rock Hill, SC to Chester, SC. AME is purchasing the former Schlegel property located on the JA Cochran By-Pass. The 115,000 SF structure will allow AME to house their fabrication shops, store equipment for customers and allow the existing tenant, BFC, to remain in a portion of the building.

Before AME can relocate their fabrication shop, portions of the existing building must be modified and a new adjoining structure must be built. AME expects the modifications and construction to begin in the next several months, after local approval has been received. The work will take approximately four months to complete, which would allow AME to begin operations in the building by the upcoming summer.

Currently the AME fabrication shop employs 25 people at a 30,000 SF facility in Rock Hill. Current levels of employment will increase once AME has completed their relocation. As AME continues to expand, additional employees will be added. All hiring will be coordinated through the South Carolina Employment security Commission’s Chester Workforce Center working with AME’s Human Resources manager.

AME plans to strengthen their business ties to the Chester community. They are currently members of the Chester County Chamber as well as the Chester Development Association and as such, they intend to use as many local trades and vendors as possible.

AME is a full service Industrial Contractor that is consistently listed as one of South Carolina’s largest 100 privately held corporations. AME holds unlimited General Contracting licenses in SC, NC, VA, TN, and AL. AME consists of several operating divisions which include the Fabrication Division as well as the Industrial Contracting Division and the Crane Rental Division. The Fabrication Division manufactures specialty filters that are used in waste water treatment facilities, as well as metal fabrication to support the other divisions of AME. The Industrial Contracting Division performs general contracting, heavy rigging, equipment installation, and complete plant relocation services. The Crane Division is one of the largest crane rental fleets in the Southeastern United States.

AME would like to thank Mr. Carlisle Roddey, County Manager; Alec Oliphant County Councilman; and Ms Karlisa Parker, Director of Chester County Economic Development. Each of these individuals played a key role in AME choosing this facility and relocating their Fabrication Division to Chester County.
