Mobley retiring from Housing Authority
July 9, 2013
The News & Reporter
She is a Chester native and has worked some of everywhere in Chester and done some of and a little of everything. She has put time in at Springs Mills, Aftercare and Schumacher. She even did some temporary time with the Chester County Board of Elections and Registration, but for the past twelve years she has been an integral part of the Chester Housing Authority.
In this capacity, she is a mainstay in assisting Chester County residents find and secure clean, safe and affordable housing for themselves and their families. Functioning as the Section 8 Housing coordinator, she is responsible for ensuring that all resident applicants meet eligibility requirements and that all necessary and incidental paperwork associated with the application process is completed and in order.
Once having secured housing, she works diligently to maintain the resident and their records per HUD regulations and making sure inspections are done timely and correctly.
In speaking with her co-workers, it is evident she is very well thought of and a valued member of the Housing Authority team. Her immediate supervisor, Ann McKeown, says point blank, "You couldn't ask for anybody better." She is further described as being "very caring" and "will do anything in the world for you." The Housing interim director says it has been "an honor to work with her."
Her attendance, punctuality and work ethic, per her co-workers, speaks for her.
In this age of seemingly disposable jobs and employees, it is refreshing and just plain nice to see and hear of someone still being able to be described as being a wonderful person and even greater co-worker. This translates into that those residents and potential residents entrusted to her care at Chesters' Housing Authority could not have been in better hands as it is evident that she goes above and beyond the usual and regular call of duty.
She is long term married to Johnny Mobley and is the mother of two children and even though they are grown this has not dampened her love for outdoor camping. And, she is a lover and big fan of her cats!
This Friday, July 12, the Chester Housing Authority will bid a tender "We Love You and We Will Miss You" drop-in for retiring employee, Elaine Mobley, after twelve years of dutiful service. It will be from 2p.m.-4p.m. on site at the Housing Authority's office at 2740 Dawson Drive and you are invited to drop in and say both "hi" and to give some "we wish you well" sentiments to Elaine as she prepares to start her retirement. Please stop by.
